Preschool Assistant Teacher

S.D.E.C - International School in Yangon is looking for experienced Preschool Assistant Teachers to join our growing team. The successful candidate has to have a passion for helping students learn, grow and develop.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching:
Curriculum & Planning: Develop curriculum planning, schemes of work, detailed lesson plans, and assessment materials in accordance with the established standard procedures of the school to create a student-centered learning environment.
Assessment: Mark students’ work and provide appropriate feedback, encouraging and monitoring the progress of individual students, and using this information to adjust teaching strategies.
Classroom Management: Prepare classrooms for class activities and ensure classroom decoration, cleanliness, and maintenance of the facilities, raising students' awareness of their investment.
Discipline: Maintain discipline by undertaking appropriate responses or actions in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Reporting: Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students to the supervisor.
Inclusivity: Demonstrate effective contribution in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, ability, and family backgrounds.
Extracurriculars: Manage and participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, campaigns, and others as directed by the school.
Holistic Development: Contribute to other learning and development aspects of the students, such as PSHE, Citizenship, Moral, Cultural and Traditional values, promoting the all-round development of the students.
Student Engagement: Register students, accompany them to assemblies, and encourage their full attendance and their participation in other aspects of school life.
Communication: Report to the designated person about any difficulties in your work and make recommendations or advice as to how these may be resolved.
Professionalism: Follow teachers’ codes of conduct and act with professionalism all the time.
General Duties:
Student Potential: Endeavor to give every child the opportunity to reach their potential and meet high expectations.
School Collaboration: Contribute to the corporate life of the school through effective participation in meetings and management systems necessary to coordinate the management of the school.
Professional Growth: Undergo regular observations and evaluation and show positive reflection towards appraisal feedback.
Training: Participate in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development (CPD).
School Events: Take part in marketing and liaison activities such as Open Houses, Parents' Evenings, and other events with partner institutions.
Adaptability: Take responsibility and show accountability for any other duties as assigned by the school.
Flexibility: Comply with any reasonable request from a supervisor to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.
Review Policy: It is understood that areas of responsibility are from time to time subject to review and are negotiable in the light of the needs of the school and the professional development of the staff. It may be amended at any time after consultation with you.

School Experience: Experience teaching at international schools.
Language Skills: Must be fluent in English.
Tech Savvy: Must be comfortable using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with remote teaching tools (Zoom / Microsoft Teams, etc.).
Communication: Strong communication skills.
