Senior Accountant
Description
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing accounting transactions, performing reconciliations, managing month-end closing activities, and supporting financial analysis and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Oversee and review daily accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain general ledger and supporting accounting schedules.
• Prepare and review journal entries and accounting adjustments.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including:
Statement of Financial Position
Statement of Profit or Loss
Cash Flow Statement
Supporting schedules and management reports
• Analyze financial results and identify significant variances and trends.
• Provide financial information and analysis to the Finance Manager and management.
Reconciliation & Control
Perform and review bank, cash, AR, AP, inventory, fixed asset, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies and unusual balances.
Review outstanding receivables, payables, advances, and other balance sheet items.
Ensure proper accounting controls and documentation are maintained.
Monitor the accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Monitor AP and AR activities and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
Review customer and supplier balances and follow up on outstanding items.
Monitor receivable collections and payable schedules.
Ensure invoices and supporting documents comply with company policies.
Tax & Compliance
Assist with preparation and review of tax calculations and supporting schedules.
Ensure accounting records and supporting documents comply with applicable Myanmar tax and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and relevant authorities when required.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Team Supervision
Review the work of Junior Accountants and provide guidance and support.
Allocate accounting tasks and monitor completion.
Train and develop junior finance team members.
Establish and maintain proper accounting procedures and controls.
Other Responsibilities
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Assist management with financial analysis and business-related financial matters.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
Support accounting system and process improvements.
Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or management.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
LCCI Level 3, ACCA Part One, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Good understanding of Myanmar tax and regulatory requirements.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, ERP systems, or similar platforms.
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
Experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting staff is preferred.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
