Description

ASSISTANT MARKETING MANAGER
Company: Elevate Education
Department: Marketing
Location: Yangon, Myanmar
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Management / CEO
Salary: MMK 1,000,000 – 1,500,000 per month
Vacancy: 1 Position

📌About the Role
▪️Elevate Education is looking for an experienced, commercially minded and highly execution-focused Assistant Marketing Manager to lead the day-to-day marketing function across Elevate Education and our growing portfolio of education brands and business units.
▪️This is a hands-on management position.
▪️The successful candidate will be responsible for leading marketing people, developing marketing plans, managing campaigns, generating leads, overseeing content and social media execution, coordinating events and outreach, managing paid advertising, building relationships with KOLs and influencers, monitoring performance, and helping build the Marketing Team as the company grows.
▪️The Assistant Marketing Manager will work closely with Management and the Commercial Team to ensure that marketing does not simply generate reach, views or engagement—it must contribute to qualified inquiries, leads, applications, enrollments and sustainable business growth.
▪️We are looking for someone with enough practical marketing experience, maturity and leadership capability to earn the confidence of the existing team and take genuine ownership of marketing execution.

📌Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Marketing Function
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Marketing Department.
Coordinate marketing activities across the company’s core brand and growing portfolio of education brands/business units.
Translate company growth objectives into practical marketing plans and activities.
Set priorities and ensure the team understands what needs to be achieved.
Assign responsibilities and deadlines to marketing team members.
Monitor progress and follow up proactively.
Review the quality and timeliness of marketing work.
Hold team members accountable for agreed responsibilities and KPIs.
Conduct regular marketing meetings and performance reviews.
Identify execution gaps and resolve them quickly.
Build a culture of speed, ownership, accountability and continuous improvement within the Marketing Team.
The AMM is expected to lead, not simply coordinate tasks assigned by Management.

2. Multi-Brand Marketing Management
The AMM will oversee marketing across Elevate Education’s core business and the company’s growing portfolio of education brands and business units.
Responsibilities include:
Understand the target audience, positioning and commercial objectives of each brand.
Develop appropriate marketing approaches for different audiences.
Maintain clear priorities across multiple brands.
Ensure sufficient marketing attention is given to both established and growing businesses.
Coordinate separate marketing resources working on core and growth brands.
Prevent duplication, conflicting campaigns and inconsistent communication.
Maintain appropriate brand positioning and standards.
Help Management determine where marketing resources should be prioritized.

3. Marketing Strategy & Planning
Develop annual, quarterly and monthly marketing plans aligned with company growth targets.
Develop marketing plans for individual brands, products, programs and recruitment periods.
Define target audiences and appropriate channels.
Develop campaign concepts and promotional strategies.
Build integrated plans across:
Social media
Content
Paid advertising
Events
Outreach
Influencers/KOLs
Partnerships and collaborations
Video
Live/online activities
Other relevant channels
Establish clear objectives and KPIs before campaigns begin.
Maintain an overall marketing calendar.
Identify upcoming opportunities and prepare campaigns early rather than reacting at the last minute.
Present marketing plans and recommendations to Management.

4. Lead Generation & Commercial Performance
Marketing performance at Elevate is expected to contribute directly to business growth.
The AMM will be accountable for marketing KPIs including lead generation and lead quality, not merely social media activity.
Responsibilities include:
Set lead-generation targets by campaign, channel and brand.
Monitor marketing-generated inquiries and leads.
Monitor lead quality with the Commercial Team.
Track performance by lead source.
Monitor cost per lead where applicable.
Monitor event registrations and attendance.
Analyze campaign performance.
Understand how marketing leads progress through the sales cycle.
Identify underperforming channels and campaigns.
Recommend changes quickly when results are below target.
Allocate marketing effort toward activities producing stronger commercial results.
Work closely with Commercial leadership to improve the quality and volume of leads.
The AMM is not directly responsible for Education Counselors’ individual sales conversion, but must understand what happens after marketing generates the lead.

5. Weekly Sales-Cycle Review
The AMM will participate in regular sales and commercial performance reviews.
This includes reviewing:
Marketing Activities → Inquiries → Leads → Counselor Handover → Applications → Enrollments
Responsibilities include:
Review marketing lead performance with Commercial leadership.
Understand which channels generate high-quality versus low-quality leads.
Identify campaigns producing applications and enrollments.
Investigate major performance gaps.
Use commercial feedback to improve marketing targeting and campaigns.
Report relevant marketing results to Management.
Make marketing decisions based on business outcomes rather than vanity metrics alone.

6. Paid Advertising & Digital Performance
The AMM will have management-level responsibility for paid digital marketing.
This may include:
Meta/Facebook advertising
TikTok advertising
Google advertising
YouTube advertising
Other relevant paid digital channels
Responsibilities include:
Develop paid advertising plans.
Determine target audiences and campaign objectives.
Prepare advertising budget proposals.
Coordinate campaign setup and execution.
Monitor advertising performance.
Track leads, CPL and other relevant metrics.
Test audiences, creatives, messages and campaign approaches.
Identify poorly performing campaigns quickly.
Optimize or recommend stopping ineffective campaigns.
Coordinate with internal employees, agencies or external specialists where applicable.
Even where another employee or agency physically operates advertising platforms, the AMM remains responsible for marketing performance and oversight.

7. Content Strategy & Marketing Quality
Lead overall content direction across the company’s brands.
Develop content themes and campaign directions.
Brief Content Marketing Executives, Designers, Video staff and other team members.
Review content from a marketing, brand and audience perspective.
Ensure content supports commercial and campaign objectives.
Maintain appropriate content calendars.
Ensure marketing output is delivered consistently and on time.
Identify content gaps and opportunities.
Improve content based on performance data and audience response.
Important: Education Information Approval
The AMM does not have independent final authority over factual education information simply because they manage Marketing.
University programs, tuition fees, scholarships, admission requirements, visa information and other education-related facts require verification by the relevant Education Counselor/Commercial owner or other authorized subject-matter owner.
The expected workflow is:
Marketing Creation → Education/Commercial Fact Verification → Required Management Approval → Publication
All content must follow the company’s required approval process before publication.
The AMM is responsible for marketing quality and execution, while the relevant subject-matter owner is responsible for verifying education-related factual accuracy.

8. Event & Outreach Oversight
The AMM will oversee the marketing strategy and performance of Elevate’s events and outreach activities.
This includes:
Education fairs
Seminars
University events
School activities
Student events
Webinars/live events
Mall activations
Exhibitions
Community outreach
Other promotional activities
Responsibilities include:
Determine event objectives and target audiences.
Establish attendance and lead-generation KPIs.
Review event concepts and promotional plans.
Coordinate with the Event & Outreach Officer and Marketing Executive – Event & Video.
Monitor registrations before events.
Intervene when attendance is below target.
Review event marketing budgets.
Evaluate attendance, leads, cost and commercial results after events.
Identify which event formats should be expanded, improved or discontinued.
Event employees may own operational execution, but the AMM remains accountable for marketing direction and performance.

9. KOL, Influencer & External Marketing Relationships
The AMM will actively build Elevate’s network of external marketing relationships.
Responsibilities include:
Identify relevant KOLs and influencers.
Build and maintain professional relationships with influencers.
Identify creators whose audiences align with Elevate’s target markets.
Develop influencer collaboration concepts.
Negotiate proposed rates and collaboration terms.
Evaluate influencer performance based on reach, engagement, leads and other relevant outcomes.
Maintain relationships with event organizers.
Build relationships with media, youth communities and other relevant organizations.
Identify sponsorship and collaboration opportunities.
Develop joint promotional activities where appropriate.
Maintain organized records of potential and existing marketing partners.
The AMM should actively build a network, rather than contacting external partners only when a campaign suddenly requires them.

10. Marketing Budget & Cost Control
Prepare proposed marketing budgets.
Estimate campaign, advertising, event and collaboration costs.
Compare spending against expected outcomes.
Monitor approved marketing expenditure.
Coordinate with Finance where necessary.
Maintain proper documentation and approvals.
Identify opportunities to improve marketing efficiency.
Evaluate whether marketing spending is generating sufficient value.
Financial Approval Requirement
All company spending requires prior authorization according to company policy.
The AMM may research, negotiate, recommend and prepare budgets, but must not make unauthorized financial commitments or approve expenditure independently, regardless of amount.

11. Marketing Team Management
The AMM will directly manage and develop marketing employees.
Responsibilities include:
Assign work and responsibilities.
Set deadlines.
Establish individual and team KPIs.
Review performance.
Provide direct and constructive feedback.
Identify training and development needs.
Coach team members to improve performance.
Address repeated performance or accountability problems.
Improve workflows and division of responsibilities.
Help employees grow into stronger specialists and future leaders.
Build a disciplined, high-performing Marketing Team.
The AMM should be capable of earning the team’s respect through marketing knowledge, judgment, work ethic and leadership, not simply through job title.

12. Build the Growth Marketing Team
An important early responsibility will be helping build additional marketing capability as Elevate expands.
The AMM will:
Work with Management to identify required marketing capabilities and positions.
Work closely with Talent Acquisition/HR on marketing recruitment.
Review shortlisted candidates.
Participate in interviews.
Assess marketing experience, portfolios and practical assignments.
Recommend suitable candidates to Management.
Help onboard new marketing employees.
Establish responsibilities, workflows and KPIs for new team members.
Help integrate new employees into the wider Marketing Department.
Talent Acquisition owns recruitment administration and sourcing; the AMM is responsible for helping ensure the company hires capable people for the Marketing Team.

13. Hands-On Execution
This is especially important during the current growth stage.
The AMM must be willing to personally step into execution when required.
This may include:
Developing campaign plans
Writing or improving marketing briefs
Reviewing and improving copy
Developing content ideas
Reviewing creatives
Setting up or checking campaigns
Analyzing performance data
Coordinating events
Working directly with vendors/influencers
Fixing urgent execution problems
Filling temporary capability gaps while the team is being built
We are not looking for a manager who only delegates, attends meetings and waits for employees to execute everything.
As the Marketing Team grows, the position can progressively spend more time on leadership, planning, optimization and management.

14. Reporting & Analytics
Prepare regular marketing performance reports.
Maintain visibility of key marketing KPIs.
Analyze results by brand, campaign and channel.
Track lead generation and cost efficiency.
Review social media and content performance.
Review paid advertising results.
Review event and outreach results.
Identify trends, opportunities and problems.
Present clear conclusions and recommendations to Management.
Use data to make decisions rather than simply reporting numbers.
Management should be able to ask:
“How is Marketing performing this month?”
and receive a clear, evidence-based answer from the AMM.

15. Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with:
Management / CEO
Commercial Team
Education Counselors
Local Partnership Team
Student Service Team
Finance
HR / Talent Acquisition
Operations
Other relevant departments
The AMM must understand that Marketing operates as part of the company’s wider commercial system and cannot work in isolation.

16. Travel, Events & Flexible Working
The position is based in Yangon but requires flexibility.
The AMM must be prepared to:
Attend company and university events.
Travel for major campaigns and events.
Visit activities in Mandalay and other cities when required.
Support important weekend events.
Work outside standard hours occasionally during major campaigns, events or urgent marketing activities.
Candidates who are unwilling to travel or participate in important events should not apply.

17. Additional Responsibilities
Develop and improve Marketing SOPs and workflows.
Introduce better marketing tools and systems where appropriate.
Identify new marketing channels and growth opportunities.
Monitor relevant competitors and market developments.
Support new brand/business launches.
Participate in company planning and management discussions when required.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by Management according to company and operational requirements.
